If you happened to miss the Oscars on February 26, having any association with social media will tell you everything you might have missed out on. With the majority of America having no other option than to watch it on ABC, we still get the chance to see all the "perfect couples", variety of fashion choices, and just the stars themselves right in our own living rooms. Considering the Oscars were 4 days ago and I have a fashion blog, I see an opportunity to express my opinion of the good and the ugly fashion choices of those who walked the red carpet Saturday night.Compared to the many other award shows, such as, the Billboard Music, iHeartRadio, Grammys, Emmys, etc. the Oscars don't seem to have many stars sporting bold, wild dresses and highly provocative clothing. Many of those who attended the Oscar awards on Saturday seemed to have the same formal focus in mind, classy and elegant. Nicole Kidman, Academy Award winning actress, was just that as she walked the red carpet in an Armani Prive gown. The style choice was one that I believe was ideal for the 89th Oscar award show, wearing a neutral color with small jeweled designs to add to the elegance. Each award show is filled with several different types of wardrobe choices to fit the occasion and Nicole was most definitely one who stole the show Saturday evening.

When School and Fashion Collide: What To Do…
A lot of times in a high school environment, teenagers get in trouble or sent home because of the clothing that they wear while trying to look trendy. We know how tough this can be, but working around these guidelines can help you avoid trouble as well as maintaining a respectable image. We decided to get together and collaborate on the struggles and strict guidelines of high school dress codes. With both of us attending the same high school, we know the rules and regulations of our dress code, and how to stay fashionable while meeting those rules.
Trust us, with our school having one of the strictest dress codes around, we know the struggles of following dress code, but changing the rules is nearly impossible. Working with your school is beneficial in many ways, that's why the author of the blog Once a Panther, Always a Panther and I have decided to co-write this blog post on the topic of dress codes. To begin, one tip we have for you to still look fashionable is layering. Everyone hates the "three-inch wide" straps rule. Tank tops or shirts can’t be spaghetti straps and if they are they have to be covered. If you have a favorite summer tank that you absolutely adore but are hesitant to wear it to school, pair it with a complimentary jacket, cardigan, or wrap.
Attending a school with a strict rule against shorts can be a tough one, but wiggling around it isn't impossible! When Spring comes around capris and a loose tank top are your second option in solution to a "four-inches above the knee" rule. To all you other lucky ducks that have the old "finger tip" rule can get by with some cute shorts and sandals. Wearing your favorite Daisy Dukes is never a good idea when it comes to school, but keeping them a reasonable length will keep you out of trouble.
Do you ever find a super cute pair of jeans, but refrain from purchasing them because they have holes that show your leg skin? Another trick we have for you is to jazz those jeans up! Buy some black tights, or have grandma sew a couple pieces of lace underneath, while looking good but still following school rules. An alternative option to that is to get an old pair of jeans that you don’t wear anymore that are similar to the wash of the new jeans with holes. Then, cut some patches to fit the holes on your new jeans and glue the patches to them with some fabric glue or liquid stitch. If you're on your very last resort, try looking for some wripped jeans on the lower half of the leg while shopping.
We know high school can be tough sometimes and dress codes just add to the stress, but with these tips and tricks we hope that you can at least show up to school feeling confident, looking super chic, while still following the rules specified to your school.

Coming together to celebrate the pilgrims feast with the Native Americans in 1621 is what Thanksgiving is all about. Thanks to the Native Americans, the Englishmen were able to survive and grow crops which helped America become the country it is today. Without the crops they discovered how to grow, we wouldn't have the clothes and products used today.

Thanksgiving dinner is very important to most families and dressing/looking like a slob isn't necessarily acceptable. Putting the perfect look together is also a big part of Thanksgiving dinner considering that fall fashion is very, very popular. Fall fashion is very popular partly due to the transition from warm weather to cold. After four months of warm weather for us central states, people start to miss the colder weather. This leads to Fall being one of the favorite seasons for fashion.

Depending on your type of style, simple but comfortable and cozy is the best way to go. Spending all day cooking, cleaning, and doing the usual family traditions; being uncomfortable won't make one to remember. Skinny jeans, soft light-colored t-shirt, and a festive scarf is the perfect, comfortable way to express yourself. Depending on what the weather is like, you want an outfit that makes life easier and will create a look that will receive compliments. Creating the outfit you want is very simple once you have the right points and tips.

Assisting with the perfect look comes with the perfect makeup for the perfect dinner. Makeup is also a good way to express yourself. Some people wear none, some keep it pretty simple, and others go big. Spending time with mostly family on Thanksgiving Day, keeping it simple would be the way to go. With many pictures being taken, going with none wouldn't quite be enough but going big might be a little too much. A smoky eye with a shimmer cream color and light brown is perfect. Many women enjoy wearing the "natural" look. Creating the natural look is all up to you depending on how you want to customize it.

Thanksgiving is a very special and important time for families to spend time together and eat as much as you possibly can. Making memories is also a very important part of the holidays and looking great does too!

Hi, my name is Kelcy. My decision to make a fashion blog was completely based on what would be the easiest and the most simple way of getting a good grade. I personally, have a lot of interests in clothes, shoes, makeup, etc. which is also what fueled my decision to create a fashion blog. My broad range of knowledge about fashion won't get me far, but will hopefully assist me in some sort of way. My main goal in this blog is to express a little of my fashion sense with others to maybe help or interest people in different ways.
